Hey Mauro, get me a family name and I will see if anyone remembers it.
The FJ5 JS23V0B shaker hood, 4 speed from Campbellford was parted out years ago. I ended up with the hood and Dana from that car and knew the family that owned it in the early 70s. They would know this car if it came from the area.

I'm pretty sure that's JS23V0B308628.I purchased the remains for $100 in 1987 or so.....trailered it from Peterborough to Kevin Atwaters place in Hamilton and flipped it for $1200 same day.It was complete less hood and drivetrain...no Dana.I must have been beat that day cause I never bothered to look for the broadcast sheet.Kevin found at least 3 different sheets in the car...pretty sure the correct sheet was there.I have no idea what Kevin did with the car...and he's been dead for a year or two.

Ok, I was mistaken. The Challenger I got the hood and Dana from was the FC7 car.
I talked with the owner of the car a little while ago and he bought it at Keith Brown Chrysler around 1978 or so. He was a clean up guy at the dealership and paid $600 for it. By then the car had been painted blue and had a 318 in it.
Bob had the car painted silver and added green and blue stripes. He also had a 440 built and put back in the car. He told me he sold it to a guy near Peterborough that had a milk route.
I ran an ad in the Peterborough paper looking for this car in the late 80s and was called by a young guy that lived on a farm near Hastings about 18 miles east of Peterborough. I needed a shaker hood and dana for a Hemi Challenger I had bought in upstate New York and remembered the shaker hood Challenger from time spent in Campbellford as a teenager.
I went to look at the parts and the car was beside the house on blocks. It was pretty rusty and wasn't really what I needed. I made a deal to buy the hood and dana for around $800 and was on my way. I think the owner still had the numbers transmission but said he needed it for another car.

Hi everyone, I am the one that's searching for this car!
I don't have much info on it because it was before I was born (lol!) However, I am desperately seeking this car, what is left of it or any part of it as it was my mom's brothers car and she has so many childhood memories in it!

Her brother was her best friend, and when a friend of a family gave her this photo that they found the other day she was beyond excited and I thought it would be amazing to try to track down the actual car for her.

The car was originally from Campbellford, Ontario and my uncles name was Bob Reid. He was a school teacher and passed away from Lukemia in his 40s

I was told the car was sold to a Bob Laundry in Campbellford and he may have possibly wrecked it?

Any info I can get out of this forum would be so greatly appreciated, and fingers crossed I can find it and surprise my mom!

..and just for the record they own a 73 sublime lime Challenger now so Mopar has always been a part of our lives laugh

Well the information provided is a great starting point and looks to be accurate. Now that you have the VIN run it at the MTO. That could start you on another path from here.

My cousins grew up with the Laundry boys. There was three of them.
I knew this car from when Bob Laundry owned it however I did not know the car was originally purple as we never paid attention to those things. I remembered the car as lime light green however that was another car that Bob owned. The Laundry boys were motor heads and owned many cars back in the day, most of them Mopars.
When I saw this post I called Bob Laundry and he confirmed that he owned it for a while and sold it as I stated above to a guy from Peterborough. Bob did not wreck the car. That isn't to say he never bumped the car, it was never damaged beyond repair while he owned it.
When I found the car in the late 80s the young owner had taken the car apart and the body was sitting on blocks beside their farm house. I bought the hood and rear end however I found a better hood and sold the one from the purple car to a guy from Deseronto Ontario. The rear end was sold many years later to a friend from Iowa.
It seems the body was bought and sold by Nigel. The original 440 was already gone by the late 70s as there was a 318 in the car, and the car had been repainted blue before Bob Laundry bought it.
As suggested you could go yo the MTO here and try and buy a transfer package to see if the VIN remains in the system and there is current ownership information.
You can contact Bob Laundry as he is listed in Campbellford under R Laundry.

That vin shows up in the package as blue, doesn't sound like the same car, and my brothers name is not on package , dammit

Those seller packages only go so far back I think mid to late 70's.

The color is given at the time its registered by the new owner even if not the original color. If the car is painted a different color that what goes on the ownership.

It could still be the car. Where is it now as per MTO?

As Mauro has pointed out the colour on the MTO sales kit will show the last colour that they were told about. Please note that the car Bob Laundry had was originally purple according to Bob but had been painted blue at the time of it's trade in in the late 70s. The dealership would have most likely indicated the colour as blue on their transfer to Bob Laundry. Bob repainted the car silver and replaced the 318 engine that had been installed in the Challenger at some time.
You can confirm with the MTO but I believe the records were computerized around 1977-78 and I have yet to see a sales kit with information much before that time.
You also may not realize how very very few Challengers with similar colour, engine, interior and shaker were built for all of North America let alone a town of 1,700 population in Ontario.
Odds are extremely high this was your brother's Challenger just based on the car's description. Add the information that Nigel supplied along with what I have stated based on my memory and purchases and also Bob Laundry's information seems to confirm what the MTO information has revealed.
I still live close to the area and have many relatives in the area, some who were probably taught by your brother. If you send me the MTO information I would be happy to try and track down the former owners including the fellow that sold me the parts.

Rick
