I called about a 69 dart for sale and the guy told me it was a GSS. My question is how can I determine that it is a true Mr.Norms car? The engine is missing, he said the four speed is there and it has a console as well. Any help would be great..

I mite be mistaken about this, but I think only 1968 darts were GSS. 69's were all GTS. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

You are right, 68 only had the GSS badging (about 50 made) 69 were GTS M Code car's ( 640 built)

68-69- ALL automatic

Vin should start LS23M...

Because there is no such animal as a 69 GSS.

Au contraire, there was a 69 GSS just no badging. Only one had been rumored to have been found, but still waiting on docs. shruggy

And like mentioned above, there were NO 4-speed 440 Magnum Darts made. tsk

what is the date of that ad and/or Super/Stock magazine?
is the ad w/lead-time before or after the M-code 440 GTS Darts came out in December '68?

in any case the OP's question is about an alleged Mr. Norm's Grand-Spaulding-Dodge 340 4-speed Dart GTS - I'm sure GSD sold a few .....

& re-reading the ad it doesn't mention 1969 GSS 440 Darts

when were the '68s built/converted? work I'd bet GSD is still advertising the 440 '68s on the lot!

The Paxton Supercharged car were 72 Demons and 73 Dart Sports, only one 73 is known to exist right now. The 69 GSS that has been talked about was last seen in Ohio I believe, maybe Pennsylvania. work

The way the GSS Darts are listed in that ad I would think they were left over 68s. They are separated with a border from the listed 1969 cars and let's not forget Mr Norm was one of the best marketing men.

I wonder why no 440 4 speeds? I owned a 383 4 speed GTS convertible back in 73.
