I feel if a scoop isn`t sealed, then it`s just there to cover things up............

No I just thought the hood was to close to the carb I was directing that to Thumper EDIT one bad fish... did you get your new scoop yet

scoops..... the necessary evil. Yeah they may be but they do smooth out the air going into the carb.. and they will add some pressure.. vs no scoop and a carb with a filter on it out in space
