I've run a lot of stick cars, and have never seen that before. But I don't see any reason why you couldn't just slot the hole and bolt it up without any issues. Just make sure that you have the right retainer diameter against the bellhousing openning. The retainer opening keeps the trans from moving up and down/left and right. The bolts supply the clamping force to the bellhousing. It will be fine.

Looking at it it looks like it was brokne and welded back on.Im 1/2 blind but that looks like weld bead near the case.Just open up the hole or leave the bolt out.Rocky

Supercuda now that I look more I agree.Never saw one with that bolt/plug thing in the pic.I was just looking at the hole that looks like an ear was welded on.Rocky

What bell housing are you using? What motor? It's a hydraulic style SB bell from a late 80's to early 90's d150. It has the 435 and 833 bolt patterns. And sized for the large OD retainer. I also checked the bell's bolt pattern to a BB '67 B-body bell by linin up the holes and it appears to match. So the hole on the trans itself seems to be what's off.

Someone gave it to me as a 833 OD. Let me go snap some more pic and maybe you guys can help me figure out what I have.
