Nothing interesting about that. Just run it a few days and that spring should wear in that taper for you

Get one from a 2014 or up, they changed the design along with a new design oil filter. $50 cheaper too. I have a used one from a 2014 3.6 engine I'm parting out I'd sell for $75.

I said that becuase I had already "finished" that end of the part and was starting on the smaller diameter side. I wasn't sure if I could flip the part and hold it by the small nose and still cut that taper into it.

Turns out I could and finished today.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I had to get help from my oldest to figure out the angle I would to cut the taper to acheive the desired result. Turns out it's just under 89 degrees to cut that taper.

It's good to have a kid who scored a 1540 on the SAT'S penguin

This has got to be the most complaex part I have ever atempted and to my measurements I think I nailed all the cirtical dimensions to within half a thou. I was using a HF digital caliper to measure with though so I can only be as accurate as it is. laugh2
