I'm rounding up parts to do a suspension rebuild and got a decent deal on some USA made lower ball joints. Unfortunately I only got one dust seal. Some deal right? Rather than deal with RockAuto's return hassle and postage I'd be better off buying a good set of dust boots. Anyone got a good reccomended product? Who's got the best deal? I see sets of polyurethane boots on eBay about $23 with shipping. Anything better on the market?
Thanks!

I have a strong aversion to anything polyurethane other then paint, stay with rubber, as poly serves little purpose here IMO, could you just re use existing boot? bump

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

That's a possible solution. I put some Moogs in early '90s and the boots maybe ok. Just would like to have new ones on hand just in case.

do they crack like cheap "help" rack import rubber boots ? not fit correctly? please explain. i know it's hard to get quality boots, and was thinking about the poly, but now i most likely will keep looking.

Whoops!
It looks like I actually have polyurethane boots for my lower ball joints haha!
Sorry its been a couple of years since I re-did my suspension.

For my upper ball joint I tried the poly boots and those did not fit well on my Hotchkis A-arm so that's why I tossed them and re-used the Moog rubber lower ball joint boots as they have a flange and sealed up better

So polyurethane boots for the Lower Ball Joints are good!
Sorry about that!

Those Hotchkis UCAs look well built. Did you gain much caster with them over stock ones?

You need to get a bit more nutty on your Caster

I didn't realize until now I had less caster. I had a toe wear issue that I was more concerned about for this last alignment.

Yeah I'm leaving a lot left on the table haha!

Thanks for the info!
I'd installed the Moog offset uca bushings last rebuild in early '90s and never could get a decent alignment. Can you use the Hotchkis UCA with tall spindles? I pulled a disc brake setup from a '75 Fury many years ago and was considering installing it finally.

Yes you can make them work with taller spindles. I'm using them with 73 C-Body spindles.

If it is a street car I would go with the Firm Feels with rubber inner bushings, you can get them with urethane but I would pass.

Pynzo -- I know someone who installed the moog offset uca bushings into the FF ucas... and was able to get about 7 pos caster... and did that with satisfaction... (67-a-body race car.. GT1 BCuda)... and some neg camber, as well.
