received my solid roller back from Bullet. iv been measuring the lobes with a lifter bore indicator. when i 0 the dial indicator on the heal of the lobe and then rotate the cam in the run direction(clockwise), the indicator goes to -1* or -2* before advancing in the + direction up the lobe. also, some lobes are in spec at .430" and some are .429-.431. haven't spoke with them yet, but do you think this normal or even close enough? thanks

Put a head on the motor with checking springs, rockers and so on and see what the valves do twocents I've seen wierd stuff in the past with one of the early Cam Dynamic state of the art lobes on a NHRA stock legal Hemi solid lifter cam. Crane use to call some of their weird solid roller lobes Hi Low no Pop designs, the valves would start to open and then close a little and then open really rapidily shock shruggy IHTHs thumbs

thats just what these cam lobes are doing. i dont see how putting heads etc. on would change anything. the cam lobe is telling the valve what to do?

lash would be .018/.020, shouldnt effect the lift at the valve. so im not sure why they ground the cam the way they did? mistake?

Call them and ask about it thumbs Let us know what they say.
BTW, the rocker ratio magnify any movement on the lobes at the retainers work thumbs

This is not uncommon at all. It's no big of deal.
Give them a call and they will set your mind at ease.

.001" -.002" are you sure the tool is completely seated?

With deflection, valve lash and host of other things going on the .001"-.002" won't matter.

I don't know. I was thinking they took too much between the heal and the open ramp. I will call when I get a chance. Sounds like it may not be a big deal thou. Let ya know.

Biginchmopar was correct. no big deal. just got off the phone with them. the low spot is just a design of the cam. has something to do with accelleration rate. its all good. thanks

What was the cost of your Bullet solid roller regrind ? I have a new Howard that came with an engine that is tooo large for my project .. they discouraged me from sending it in saying cost prohibitive . ]
