Let's say you can drive 10 miles and race 1/8mile, or go 10 miles the other way and race 1/4....... All other things being the same. Track quality, payout, etc, etc Which would you prefer?

Everything being equal I would go to the 1/4 mile track.
Ok

I prefer 1/4 mile. I like the speed on the top end in my car.

I ran 1/4 mile my whole life and said I'd never do 1/8 mile, until I tried it! The whole program moves so much faster that it's more fun to me, seems like it's not as hard on the car, uses less fuel, and you still get to make passes at well over 100 MPH. Also, if you know your car very well, you can use your 1/8 mile ET slip to see exactly what it would have ran in the 1/4. My car was always 1/8 X 1.575 = 1/4. And I normally gained 25 MPH after the 1/8.

The racing is closer in the 1/8th. Makes the baggers work harder.
Getting old just means you were smarter than some and luckier than others.

I am happy doing either. I just like to race.

Life long 1/4 mile or nothing guy. Track had a 7.50 index, 235 street car race the other day, and I really enjoyed myself. Stuff happens quick, not much riding along, waiting to make a decision time!
I don't think I'd like 1/8 mile as my only choice, but certainly am open to racing it a little more often.
