for instance, Brainerd, MN has a muscle car points series. Real Street heads up class on a pro tree. I'm wondering how most are being indexed.

We don't have a street class at my local tracks but they do have index classes. One track has 9.0, 8.0, 7.0, 6.0 and sometimes 5.70 headsup classes every Saturday night. Iam trying to get mine fast enough to run in the 6.0 class, Too slow for 6.0 and too fast for 7.0. I also need a trans brake. All on a 4 tenths pro tree.
1.33 60 ft,6.21 at 110.59 in the 1/8, pump gas small block,2950lbs,drag radials,mufflers and driven to track ...

There is a radial "real street" class in this area........which is limited to small block cars, with engine limits and "plate only" nitrous systems, that run on a 275 radial. But the "hitters" around here run 4.90s in that class. So Real Street class designation can mean MANY different things depending on area. Some also have a "True Street" or "Street Eliminator" titled class, that is for REAL tagged and insured street cars. They generally go on a 30 or so mile "cruise" before they race. But around here, you will still need a mid 5 sec car to be a player

Thanks guys. Yeah true street or real street are similar terms. Licensed cars with all functions, interior etc.
What I think sucks is that they allow "newer" cars with fuel injection in, but I can't put it on my old car- it's an "electronic" device.

i am looking to run my charger in a street class next summer. it is a small track and it will be run over 4 weekends with sat and sun counting as race days. the street cars are the only cars to run the 1/4 there all others run 1/8 the street class is 13.0 no faster so not too much point running a really high end car. just doing it for fun while i help a buddy out. it is a no electrics really basic class a few muscle cars and some late model stuff. the guy who won this year ran a magnum wagon!
