Picked up a high mileage 2005 1500 a couple of months ago. A/C wasn't very cold. Just figured it needed a little freon and never got around to it. Now with cooler weather, we tried to get some heat the other day. Very little heat. Google around and assume a blend door issue.

I don't want to spend days fixing this. I've found a shortcut fix from HeaterTreater for fixing the doors. Anyone familiar with this deal? Any other suggestions? I'm going to get under the dash and try to verify the cause this week.

Don't go choping up the box! Do it the right way, you can do it in a day if you are carefull and the result is a lot nicer.

Good airflow out the vents? My '06 had the recirc door break off and fall on top of the blower. Very little air out the vents. Only took about 20 min. to put a new door in.

Airflow is good. Mode changes fine. This is a high mileage work truck. Trying to see what my options are. Is there even a way to move the doors by hand on this? Haven't had my head under the dash yet.
