Ready to pull the trigger on a leaf spring setup for a 67 Belvedere. Had Caltracs on the last car and just assumed thats the way I'd go with this one, but the Assassin setup looks interesting. Any experience comparing the two on a B body? The leafs have been moved inboard to the frame rails. I had planned on using the Caltrac mono leaf but open to other suggestions.

The Asassin has more adjustability. That's usually a good thing, unless you don't test. Then it may be a bad thing.

Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

As above, we drilled extra holes in our Caltrac spring mounts and had different front plates made to alter the lower bar position. Ended up back at the stock positions any way.
However, if I were to do it again I'd go with the Assassin bars.

These bars (caltrac or assassin's) basically make the front spring segment stiff on launch, essentially turning them into a very short ladder bar.

There is very little time between trans brake release, pinion rotation, and when the bars do that job.

The only major influence the bars adjustment holes have is to change the time it takes for that segment to become stiff.

If you put the rear hole higher or the front hole lower, it requires more pinion rotation before the pin hits the top of the spring. More rotation = more time.

On most cars with decent power you want this to happen as quick as possible so you can hit the tire, and get the car moving.

There is a much bigger effect on how high the front spring mount is off the ground, then there is anything you will adjust with the caltrac adjustment.

iagree and would like to add Calvert supports a number of classes in different series with contingency. His checks cash with no B.S.

The split mono leaf that the Calvert Bars use , I think they may be supplied by Landrum.
I'd also add that Calverts after sales help is very good too. We had our mono spring re-arched to clear the slicks and hit the tyre hard so we tried to slow it down some by altering the lower bar angles and leverage.
