so did that 833 come off a chevy diesel truck?----i have never heard of one on a dodge unit as a 4x4 setup.... I downloaded the picture, looks like a car/2wd 833 to me Correct........ more pictures this week as I get the column back together.....with new grant wood steering wheel to match the pistol grip shifter and Pentastar horn button.

Wow, never knew that! So bolting an A-833 behind your 350 is possible with factory parts. ----i found the thread on this gm bell housing----it is an 82-84 6.2 dual pattern #14061655----this makes it happen for the 833.....

Is that a BB bell housing made for the bigger bearing retainer on the OD trans or did you have to machine the bell housing? It's a factory dual pattern bell for a truck four speed and the OD833, but you could put any 833 four speed with the correct ring.

and robbins limit your power displays to first and second gear---3rd and 4th are somewhat weak due to being reversed in order on the mainshaft----passon sells a hemi cut gearset for the 833od that is good to 750hp---one of my friends runs one at the dragstrip in a blown stroker 440 with no problems in 5 years---loves it as he can drive on the highway at fairly normal rpms..... I'm really not going to be hot rodding this thing around....ya I wouldn't mind getting that kit.....but to be honest..... I'd rather have his five speed.....and with my change over.... I can go that way when I get rich....lol

the guy that told me about them said that some had the chevy bolt pattern and some had the dodge pattern---the bellhousing for the dodge one is pretty rare as chevy guys didnt know what they looking at... I've seen a two wheel drive one out of cheby on the floor at a friends place (back in the 90's) and it had the Mopar bellhousing pattern.
