Looking through the 1970 parts book for the original part number for a 1970 340 6bbl.cam shaft, I only see one listing under 340 and none under 340 6bbl. Are they the same? My parts book has a date of 1972 in the front so I would think it would include a 340*6, but maybe not. Can anyone provide me with the Chrysler part number of the original cam shaft and do you know does anyone make a new factory replacement for this engine?

Same cam as the 340-4.

The factory part number would be 2899206. There are three different casting numbers that might be on the core: 2899154, 2899205, or 2899206, depending on when it was produced. The Crane 969361 is a computer smoothed replacement for this part number. Regards, Chase

Mopar Performance offers a muscle car cam for the 340 P4452782 with the same specifications the service manual calls out for a 340. Just to confirm, this should be the same cam as used in the AAR/TA motors?

Where did he ask about anything other than 1970 and the 70 parts book?

I'd look into the Crane version for some extra rpm capability.
There's one on Amazon right now for $100 shipped.
