Bought a set, well actually 2 sets of 15x7 Brushed rings and although most were OK I wanted better.

Brian Kapral Moparts member RESQ302 came to the rescue. He was able to get the little dings out of them and sharpen up the brushed area that now they look near perfect!!!!!!
I've seen the type of work Brian did on his Dad's GTX and was super impressed. I asked him who did the trim rings over and he showed me his handy work.

He is a true Craftsman and a pleasure to work with. There are some aspects of the restoration that isn't possible to do but if you need this type of work contact him and he'll explain exactly what can and can't be done.
Thanks again Brian your the Best!!!!

Hi Ron,

Thanks for the praise. I'm very happy to hear that you like them. They will certainly compliment the other fine details of your car. As we had talked in person, there are some things I can repair and others, well, some are beyond help. As you saw, I restore more than just trim rings. I treat everything like it is going on my car which is held up to a pretty high standard which you saw from the work I did on my Dad's 69 GTX convertible.

Thanks again and hope to see you at some upcoming shows.

Brian

No need to thank me I just wanted you to know your work was appreciated. And yes Brian does more than just trim ring resto work.

I gotta say, the rim, tire, and center cap make the whole thing look amazing ! Don't get me wrong, the trim rings looked nice once they were restored, but it was only one small piece of the puzzle. The entire car is going to look awesome. Shoot, it looks awesome now. I can't wait to see it completed.

You might want to think about showcasing some of the services you offer here on Moparts. wink

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the compliment ! I'm not really one to gloat about my work. Sometimes I post projects and such that I am doing on Facebook but aside from that, the only thing I ever really promoted was the resto of my Dad's 69 GTX convertible over on another forum. Being that his car was pretty much unmolested and untouched, I wanted to document everything and get it back to as "nice" as new condition for him with preserving as much of the factory features as possible. I pretty much took the Dave Walden approach and took about 2000 pictures as proof of the before and after.

With all the attention this seems to be getting, I just want to let it be known that this is a side job for me and not my primary job. Ron was very nice to let me have the trim rings for as long as I needed although, I don't think the time frame was that bad. What would you say, Ron?

Brian the time you took was very reasonable for a guy doing this on the side. Heck I bet you were faster than a guy doing it for a living!!

Thank you again for the compliments, Ron. One thing to remember too, Ron, is that your trim rings were in pretty nice shape before hand too. So that saved a lot of time for me. The trim rings on my 69 Charger took me 40-60 hrs for EACH of those trim rings! You can only imagine what they must have looked like before. rant

Now I have a question. Can you take four of these O.E.M.polished rings in perfect condition (no scratches, dents ever) and replicate the original brushed finish ?

It appears Resq302 is no longer active on the member search list.

He is still alive and kicking. He has some of my trim rings in the queue to restore. Last I talked to him, he had 4 sets before mine that were in line. He also said he had some issues receiving PM's on here and I had to reach him via email.
