Only found one thread and it's a little vague ?

Taking out the lower control arm to replace bushings , it's too expensive to replace it whole like I did the upper, is a spring compressor needed ?

thanks

I got it out and it wasn't scarey , other than not being able to get the balljoint off the spindle , luckily the lower balljoint had been replaced once already so I was able to unbolt it and slide it out of the arm .

Now I have to buy a lower control arm to go with the upper I replaced yesterday. I was able to pull one of the bushings, with the outer sleeve, out of the arm with my fingers eyes

makes me think maybe the whole arm was replaced before

I can't say but the truck ended up on top of something that dented the side of the oilpan and bent in the bottom of the rear lower control arm attachment point. The truck appears to have been in an accident on that side also ?

Either way it was making a nasty creaking sound when I got on and off the gas, braked hard or hit a bump...

But what would I expect when making a sight unseen ebarf purchase and taking the word of the seller ??
