My dad is about to finish up on his 69RR 383 Air grabber auto trans and we need help on choosing the proper carb for the car. He mentioned that the new carbs need an adapter of some sort? If this is the case how will this affect the air grabber clearance? What style and size carb do you recommend. The car is original in appearance but want a new carb. Any help would be great.

Aftermarket carbs need a Mopar throttle lever adapter in order for the throttle pressure linkage to operate correctly, both Carter and Holley offer these. The adapters place the linkage in the factoory position so clearance isn't a problem.

thanks for the info! Any suggestions on cfm size? Motor is .030 over stock exhaust.

I have Thunder series Edelbrock 650 autochoke on my 69 roadrunner with an airgrabber. Good all around carb that is best for reliabilty.
Do not go any larger CFM.
