I have a customer that wants a gullying spoiler on his 70 challenger that does not have the deck lid with cutouts, has anybody done this? I thought of putting thread inserts in it in place of the clips? Any advice would be appreciated thanks

I think FPAP sells a template to do the cutouts. I didn't see the template listed on the website, but you should call/email to check.

Or get a later deck lid. Shame to ruin an early deck lid like that.

iagree

Do you need cut outs? I thought only for TA spoiler?

I mounted my repo wing to a repo deck lid. Kept my original rear decklid and switch up the look of my car every so often by changing the deck lid. Actually have another 3rd repo lid with a TA spoiler, so have 3 looks for it.

Don't forget about the under lid reinforcements, they help determine where the wing goes too. The instructions with the FPAP wings have good directions with measurements.

Got my wife to help swap ours out minutes before a tow to Utah a couple years ago after were done washing and loading and both just had showers right before leaving...she loves me, "it only takes minutes" I tell her. LOL

BTW I drove the same car with and without the TA spoiler at hi speeds and it really works at 120 mph, it was real noticeable the rear down force.

I agree about drilling this deck lid but it's what the owner wants. The car is burnt orange and I would say a shade off from the original color so it won't hurt my feelings trying to get paint to match on another lid. Getting the clips in the lid for the screws is the only problem I see here. I will check with FPAP thanks for the info.

I can't tell you how many Burnt Orange cars that I have seen where the color is off.

I have a 70 Hemi GTX that still has it's original paint so I know what color it is supposed to be.
