Let me know what you guys think, I've been looking to update my wheels and tires on my truck, so today I pulled the 15" Weld Dragstars and Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires off the 69 D100, those 29x12.50 tires on the rear would get real loose when it rained and they didn't ride the best or smoothest on the highway. I found a brand new take off set of 2015 Challenger R/T 20" wheels and tires (245/45/20 Firehawk GT2) with all factory lugnuts on Craigslist for $600.00, so I snagged them quick at that price! I also bought the billet aluminum wheel adapters that correct the back spacing and bolt pattern from 5x4.5 to 5x115. Think I'm gonna go to a little taller and a much wider tire on the rear to help fill the wheel well, I don't want to really lower the truck anymore than it is now. Opinions always welcome.

I like them too, I thought they would look to big but they fit really nice. A wider/slightly taller tire would look better but I'm digging the rims hard

Here is a before pic.. I kinda miss the look of the Dragstars, but they have been on the truck since 1995, it just doesn't have that muscle look to me anymore. Thought about putting some 18" Torque Thrust on it too but money "IS" an object to me. Then I would have to buy tires, lugs, etc....now we are talking 1500-2000 grand, that would get me divorced...

I like the truck with either wheel style but will agree that it does lose the pro-street look with the 20" wheels. I've been looking at 18" rear with 17" front but like you, shelling out $2300 ain't in my immediate future

How think are the adapters you had to run? I have been planning on trying a set R/T Classics from a 2010 Challenger.

I think it looks great. Do they rub when you full lock the steering in either direction?

Thanks for the input guys, I still have to get used to them (I'm partial to the Dragstars and Mickeys too) the new 20's and Firehawks ride a whole lot better than the Mickeys. I do have to put bigger rubber on the rear of the truck for sure(maybe this weekend), need's a 10" wide tire, these are only 8" wide. The 245/45/20 tires on the front do not rub at all, the wheel adapters are 2" thick and I had them custom made because I wanted the 14mm x 1.5 studs for these wheels with stock 22mm stainless lug nuts. The 4 adapters only cost me $149.00 shipped. I'm gonna hold on to my Dragstars and Mickeys for now, just in case I decide to switch back at some point, gotta give these some time and get larger tires on rear.

Gotta love those takeoff wheel and tire deals. I did the 17" alloy 5-spokes from the Ram 2500 on my Suburban for $300. It took a bit of work to get it to fit, but worth it in the end.

I've thought about new Mustang wheels on my '64 D100, but am trying to use up what I have, first.

Right now the truck has 28" tall and 8" wide tires all the way around, the front tires have the fit I'm looking for but the rears are to small for my taste. So I picked up a pair of 255/50/20 tires today, they measure 30" tall and 10" wide, I think these will fill the rear wheel well pretty nice and give it the stance I'm looking for. I'll shoot some more pics once I get them on.

The big wheels look great on your truck.

it didn't jump out at me and say "wow, that looks great!" but, it's not terrible either. I'm undecided! haha. maybe after you put bigger rubber on the back?

Installed the 255/50/20's today on the rear, fills the wheel well a little better, they are about 1.5" taller and 1.5" wider than the 245/45/20's that were on it. Think I'm gonna go a little wider on the rear tires and lower the rear about 1-2" with a drop shackle.

Put the bed cover on it in 1995 think it was a Leer, serial# L055587, that serial # tag is still on the frame. Don't remember what the bed cover was for, just drove it down there and started test fitting, hope the serial # helps, and we did Rhino line the bed before installing the cover, keeps it water tight.
