Looks like the wear in the cup is really offset towards the inside. Like said earlier, it may be rubbing some ware thru it's cycle. Also, is the pushrod correct for the cup diameter?

The push rod actually pops out of the cup there are 5/16 ball with a .210* radius they push out toward the shaft at the beginning of lift.

I coped this from another site so were not the only ones having this issue.

We tried to use T&D's but kept breaking parts... We tried to use T&D's but kept breaking parts with them, couldn't get the pushrods to stay in the ajusters for whatever reason. Got tired of them, sold them and bought a set of Harlan Sharps instead....

And FWIW I have NEVER broken a T&D part and most here would think we run pretty high spring loads, up to 1270lbs open. Everything has to be correct if you are having an issue like this there is something not right.

I have the very same problem with a set of -1 heads
I for get the exact lash but what we found was the lash was too loose and it let the push rod drop and work on the cup.
I lashed them .005 tighter and fixed the problem.
what is your lash procedure? ie temp, how much ect.

Sorry I don't know you and not to sound like a ass but you cannot lash them cold per card specs if you do on t&d's you will have that exact problem when it gets hot they will be way too loose and destroy the edge of the cup. Those heads will grow quite a bit when you warm them up and you will loose lash

Again I had the same problem we were trying different setups and got them too loose and it did the same thing.

Well, the pushrod tips and the adjusters that that happened to are not usable anymore. Those adjusters are shallow to begin with, and now they are damaged enough that even tighter lash will likely not solve the problem.
New pushrods and adjusters with tighter lash settings will fix ya up. The only way that would happen is if either the pushrod is contacting something and deflecting it, or the lash is to wide at the temps it runs.

looks to me like the rocker shaft needs to be raised, tip is too inboard on the tip at no lift and the roller is to far out at lift, looks like the geometry is off, should be more centered to the valve tip at both ends of the sweep and the roller in the center at mid lift,,just my opinion your opinions may vary.

Trendz the adjusters were changed every time we tried something different and no there not hitting anything it's simply the angle between the push rod and adjuster. I'm going to try a rocker with the 4* different angle it's more inline with the push rod you can only tighten the lash so much.

Dartman I moved the shaft up before and I may try that again.

Thanks everyone for your thought's and thank you Al for posting the pic's

I agree, the shaft needs to be raised considerably. We may disagree on the sweep, but right now it has to be over .100". For example, even a net valve lift of .750" will have less than .050" sweep when properly set up. Raising the shaft will also straighten the pushrod out when the valve is on the seat.
