Both my Challenger and my wife's Avenger state they have oil change warning system and yet neither car does the system seem to function.

On the Avenger it is suppose to come up with "oil change" in the cluster and never did even when the car hit 9000 miles and I changed the oil.

On the Challenger it is suppose to be part of the clusters information system and yet I cannot access the oil change menu as the manual states you can.

Has anyone else run across this? I'm going to call the dealer today to follow up.

Gary

Called the dealer, that was somewhat waste of time.

You will have to bring it in so our techs can look at it..

My wife's Sebring has this system and it works fine. A chime sounds when you start the car and "Change oil" scrolls across the info screen. I don't even keep track of the mileage. I just change it when the warning sounds. I think it's around every 5000 miles.

My Ram has the system too but I haven't put enough miles on it yet to see if it works. The info screen says I have 25% oil life left. The warning should be turning on soon.

No info screen on Challenger or Avenger even though the manual states the Challenger should have one. Avenger hit 9000 with no chime nor warning.

My Challenger is over by time by a few months, still no message with 6300 on the clock.

The Sebring doesn't have an "info center" per say either. I guess it just scrolls across the screen that displays what gear the trans is in. The Avenger should be the same I would think.

Correct. On her car the odometer numbers are suppose to change to a "calculator style" text message for oil change.

You know, like when you would spell out "boobies" with a calculator in high school.

I do a LOT of short term city driving with little highway time to burn off contaminates. Its only a 10 minute drive to work so its pretty much worse case for oil changes short of dusty driving conditions.
