"ultra seals" get rave reviews on here (I forget the brand). I would drawfile the welded beads some more (get em good and flat) and cut the flat flange so each tube is independent

We run Mr Gasket Ultra seals also.Ive had headers off and on and reused them.My kid did blow one out after about 6 years and after I reused them.Mine have been on at least 6 years.I run TTIS but we ran them with Summits cheap headers and no problems.Rocky

I have had my share of header gasket sealing issues years ago so now before I install a set I put ink on the header sealing surfaces and very lightly hand file them one at a time in an x-pattern with the widest file I have until the ink is gone. I can get years of use out of the cheapo white Mr Gasket paper gaskets once the header sealing surfaces have been hand filed flat.

If you don't want to pull the headers out to file them then adding a thin coat of copper rtv to any gasket helps seal up any small imperfections.

The most bulletproof gasket setup I'm aware of is copper gaskets along with copper rtv.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Good luck here as well. Do pay attention to the leaking gasket pattern, IE: port, to flange, to gasket size. Sometimes one of the three is mis-matched size wise

No gasket has worked well for me. Just a little high temp orange RTV. Needs reasonably flat flanges and correct fit as mentioned.

With no gasket and good fit there is almost nothing to blow out = no leaks.

gonna try those Mr. Percy aluminum ones in a couple of weeks. i have always had good luck in the past with the Ultra-Seals but you gotta remember to re-torque the bolts/nuts.

For hard to seal headers, I've always used felpro's doubled up never had one blow out.

I used the TTIs for a few years also.Had to replace them when I changed heads.I used coppers and Percys. Both leaked. The coppers do seal good on my collectors. If you can run cheap headers with Ultras and they seal they must be good.Ran like 3 cheap sets and all sealed.Rocky

REMFLEX!

I typically don't have much issue with my Hookers, but the old junk headmans I had on my 383 were a nightmare, UNTIL I found Remflex!

How thick are your header flanges at the head? Are they one piece or three? I've heard of guys having sealing issues on the flanges to the head cut them and that fix the problems they had confused shruggy I've done that on Hooker A body BB fenderwells and that worked well up

A few sets we used had the thin flanges. Two sets are thick like my TTIs.I did cut my TTIs just for clearance. The cheap ones I didnt bother and they sealed. Some were SB some BB.Rocky

I agree with Cab, I always have cut the flanges in two places each
and have had no problems.

It allows the header flange surfaces to more easily conform to the head, try it, you'll like it....

I have yet to find a set of headers that a set of Remflex gaskets could not seal. I am not kidding. They are the only set of header gaskets that I will purchase.
