Anyone know how to identify the band lever ratio ?
I have a billet steel one with no markings on it .
I also have a 5.0 one and they looks just about the same.
The guy who built the trans. says it a 4.2 but I just want to make sure.
So if anyone has anyway to tell I sure would appreciate it.
Guess I'm looking for measurement's .
Thanks Brad

hope this works..... and if so, hope it helps.

you can see as the ratio increases, the area from the cross shaft hole to the "V" decreases.

cool thanks for the pic.
That is just what I needed to figure out the ratio.
Thanks Brad

I never worried about the dimension since Mopar stamps the ratio on the levers. But since somebody is making unmarked levers, it would be good to have the dimensions to help ID them. In my drawers, I only have old stock levers, so can anybody add the dimension for the 4.2 and 5.0 levers?

2.9 = 0.400"
3.2 = 0.335"
3.8 = 0.255"
4.2 = 0.
5.0 = 0.

my 4.2 is in my trans too or I'd put in my .02. All my levers were stamped except for my 4.2 which I bought off of Ebay earlier this year.

Leverage on band apply... 3.8/4.2 seems to be preferred as it gets the job done with less fill time on the servo.

I was told not to use the 5.0 on trans breaks. I am not sure why, I just don't do it.

Wile you have it apart beef up the plate that goes between the lever and band. I make a little thicker one.

That was quick !
Here is a table including my estimated calculations trying to account for the dia of the hole and the strut contact area. 2.15" is my estimate of the total length between the contact locations. But the caliper measurement of the V to the hole is enough to ID the ratio.

For example:
2.15/3.8 - 0.325 = 0.241
variance = 0.241 - 0.255 = -0.014

I agree. There are a couple ways to make it stiffer, here is one that is thick in the middle and tapered to the ends.
