Was thinking of possibly replacing the factory stick shift with a pistol grip one in the hellcat
Anyone here done this swap? How did you get to the orignal stick? Where did you buy the pistol grip to fit new challenger? Was you happy with it afterward?
Was it for the new style (2015?) Or 08 style console?

I put one in my '09 Challenger. I got it from Gunslinger and it was a simple 10 minute installation. The one I got was just the handle assembly. There were also kits available that had the handle and linkage assembly. I sort of wish I'd spent the extra money (over 2X what a handle alone cost), for the complete kit as the throw is too long with the factory setup in my car, and I'd have liked to update to make the throw shorter and therefore make it quicker to shift.
There were instructions with the handle to release the clips for the boot from the console, then there were 2 acorn nuts holding the handle to the linkage, a twist tie was included with the handle to hold the upper part of the boot to the shifter shaft. As I mentioned before, simple quick installation with just the handle. I'm sure the handle with linkage would be more involved to install.
IIRC Gunslinger sold out to some other company a year or so ago.

I seen one. And it was quite a bit taller then the shifter that is in the hellcat. And I thought it would make the throw longer. What about the height. Was it comfortable holding onto it while driving (we live in town so will be a lot of shifting)

The height is fine, just a bit taller than the stock factory pistol grip my car came with. The throw is too long in my car with either shifter handle. There is also a shifter kit available for my car to shorten the throw, that has a different handle, much shorter with a ball handle. It has a new linkage as part of the kit also, not just a new shorter handle assembly.
I haven't driven a newer manual Challenger so I can't say if they have shortened the throw in subsequent models.

I installed a Hurst shifter in my '09 SRT8 and used the repop Hurst E-body pistol grip handle. Using the stock holes the handle does sit a bit high so I redrilled the handle and moved it down one hole. Perfect.

The best place for an older pistol grip in a new challenger is in the back seat until you get it home and install it in the 70'

We purchased Gunslinger Products at the end of last year. We have the pistol grip available for the new Challenger 6 speed, including the Hellcat:

We just received a licensing agreement with Hurst to sell this handle with the Hurst Logo as well, price will be $249.95, should be available by September 1.

I put the whole Hurst shifter assembly and E Body pistol grip in my 2010 R/T Classic. Doesn't seem to interfere with the cup holders at all. I really like the look and feel and most who see it comment how cool they think it is to have the old shifter in there.

I've had lots of compliments on mine since I installed it on my car in 2010. I have the carbon fiber pistol grips style as opposed to the original woodgrain look grips, and I think it looks great in a new Challenger as it combines the original early 70's style with a little bit of today.
Other than the long throw, IMHO my shifter is perfect for my car!

I put the hurst billet shifter in mine and the e-body wood grain pistol grip in my 09 SRT. I love it and the shorter throw is awesome. I also get tons of compliments. Oh, and this is before I changed to the 6 speed shift lense.
