Was there really ever a midnight express made by dodge or was it something the dealers added to a regular step side.

It was a factory option that came with its own Turkish prison guard.

Y'all are too funny. laugh2

IIRC, it was a dealer-installed package only offered in '78. Seems I read something about them being 440 trucks? work
I had a black '78 PW step-side I bought new that had the "SouthBounder" package on it. It was dealer-installed and only consisted of tape stripes and decals.

Search it. Been discussed many times.

I once heard that the Midnight Express was a San Francisco and Los Angeles dealer option offered in 1978 because the Lil' Red Express wasn't available with California emissions controls installed.

I have a '79, and it's only got Federal emissions.
