I weld and own a Miller. Can't do better on a unit. Look online for a manual for your unit.

Well the timer works extremely well, however the steal is 3/16 thick looks like I need to order shorter tongs being that is the max thickness if the machine will report next week on progress hopefully.

You got a machine that can spot weld 3/16"? Holy crap, how big is this thing?

Good luck spot welding 3/16" with that; I have a liquid cooled Miller 20 KVA and a larger liquid cooled, air powered 30 KVA unit in my fabrication shop and neither would work on anything that heavy....rated or not.

...and if you read that data sheet, the 3/16" rating for that unit is COMBINED thickness; i.e. BOTH pces.....it's rated for 16ga galv.

The combine thickness is the metals is 3/16. Never said I was welding 2 pieces of 3/16

Well that's good. In the industry, when we say we are welding 3/16" or 10ga or whatever that is the thickness of the individual pces.
spot welds look good.

Cheers,
Dave
