I see two part numbers listed for the distributor! One early , one late.

I'm trying to figure out if i need the regular vacuum advance or the electronic vacuum advance?

Car was sced for build Feb 14 of '70

Don't have the numbers (??19, maybe?) but my old '70 rr dist. was plain old vacuum can/dual point. Build date date was 07/24/70, LA car.

my car was built 6/13/70 and has a regular advance can with DP distributor.
nothing electronic.

maybe smog related engines got that.
or it had to do with engine options and configurations... ???

don't know....

Got me a NEW Project
1970 GTX 440+6, 4 spd, 4.10 Dana and N96 FE5 (top/bottom) and black bucket interior.
Original transmission and Dana - Engine is a service replacement block.

Body has all stamped #s + VIN/TRIM tag and door sticker. Been hunting like all hell to find the Build Sheet.

garage find, only had 41,850 miles on ODO.

I believe you will find that the "electrical" assisted vacuum advance was introduced sometime around January 1970 and was related to the N95 option code (california emissions)

I recall it was not an assist, but rather a retard for the timing at idle. Check your FSM. AVS carbs had a ground at the idle screw. 6 Packs did not.

Defiantly the later type vacuum advance. I believe PN 3420919. I believe the arm should have 11 stamped on it.
