I just got my ordered 2015 Challenger from the dealer. The car was built about a month ago. I have a few questions that affect the paint.
1. I'm considering having the front grille/Front bumper cover surround fascia put in the gloss rock chip/bug splatter resistant vinyl wrap. I look at my daily driver and it's impossible to count the number of chips in the paint. Does the vinyl fade over time? Does it affect the factory paint? Is it easily removable? will it stop the rock chips? Will it look a different color from the hood and fenders?
2. I bought an NOS grille and headlight bezels for my 71 vert when they were cheap in the 70s and still have them. I'm thinking of doing the same for my 2015 - I can get both the main and lower grilles, headlight assemblies and emblems for a few hundred dollars. Is it worth it to get these parts now or do you think an after market supplier will step up down the road?
3. It's a B5 blue. Is there a good touch up paint for the factory paint? It looks like the factory paint has a clear coat. Is there a good clear coat touchup.
Thanks in advance for any information
Terry

One other item. The car isn't undercoated and true to the Mopar tradition, the paint is thin under there. Since it won't affect the value of the car, I'm considering having the car undercoated by the dealer to reduce noise. Any thoughts? Pros and Cons? My 71 vert has it from the factory and I think it's done a great job.
Thanks.
Terry

The clear bra for the front is a great idea. They're computer-cut and they do a terriffic job.

I wouldn't bother buying any extra parts, especially based upon supply/demand of those parts for your 71. An OEM 2015 grille, and the desirability of it down the road, has nothing to do with supply/demand/desirability of an OEM grille for the 71.

Dealer will sell color-matched touchup paint and clear.

I wouldn't undercoat it, and in fact, if you do, you'll void the OEM corrosion warranty in many cases. Cars are much better built to resist corrosion now than they were back then.

Earning every penny of that moderator paycheck.

A lot of the HellCat guys are going with the XPEL clear bra. Its supposed t be "self-healing" in that dings in the clear smooth themselves out over time. Not cheap tho.
