Turbo Action, Dynamic, PTC, Ultimate Convertors all make quality products. I'm sure there are others I have forgotten. What have you been using? I agree as they are all good as is ATI. Myself I have a Luppo Dynamic in my 63 as its a street/strip car and I love how well the Dynamic converter works for me. Ron

I ran a hughes 11" 3000 stall in my '67 440 Dart, 245@.050" cam. Ran great, and you can get hughes through summit for a reasonable price, even better with a 10% discount code.
When I put a bigger cam in the Dart, I needed more stall and bought a used Edge Racing converter from Ebay, they are out of Florida. That converter works great, stalls about 3700.
For my satellite I've purchased a Dynamic, it was on sale and they are apparently experts at this version (around 4200 stall, same one that 383Man has I think).
And though a lot of people poo poo it, we bought a GER converter for my dad's 440 65 Coronet. At the time we didn't know where else to get a 19 spline converter. Anyways, that one has worked great.

I guess I want a tight convertor that will flash when needed but not ber so sluggish just cruising around or highway driving, You need to talk to the manufacturers and give them your information on the engine, car, trans, gear, and tires, and what you want from the converter. I had Ultimate build me a tight street/strip converter. It is a 9" 5,000 RPM flash stall converter that is so tight it seems like an 11" converter until you really hit the throttle. It is exactly what I asked them to build me, but it was a bit pricy, just over $1K plus shipping.

You will have to make a decision on just how much flash you want. It will directly effect the sluggishness you describe. One goes with the other, but the best converter builders obviously have the best handle on it.
