Go get a Crower and take a good, hard look at theres I like and use there extreme duty ones BTW, a little loose is way better than a tiny bit to tight on them just like pistons, bearings, valve guides and so on

PapaJ are these the ones you are talking about?
Product Line: Lunati Vertical Bar Roller Lifters Part Type: Lifters Part Number: LUN-72420LUN Lifter Style: Mechanical roller Lifter Link Bars Included: Yes Link Bar: Vertical Lifter Outside Diameter (in): 0.904 in. Lifter Offset: None Quantity: Sold as a set of 16.
Lifters, Mechanical Roller, Vertical Link Bar, Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth, Set of 16
Thx Ted
That's the one Ted...I like them because they are made in pairs, they don't have a loose steel bar that you have to put together which has a lot of play in it..I have never had a lifter problem/failure with them..I have seem many problems with the Comp and Crane lifters..As Cab said he Crower extreme are good to..But for the price I feel the Lunati has the best by far..I run them in all my motors and use them in all customer motors unless they want something else.. Hope you build is going well... jim

Just for what it's worth I thought I'd say why I like the ultra pro cranes so much. It's just our experience with Fords that led me to my opinion. Standard dia ford tappets are almost identical to Chrysler manufacturer to manufacturer. The big difference is a Ford tappet is the smallest dia of the bunch. We do a bunch of big Fords every year that use a standard dia tappet with cams and springs that should have a .937 or at least a .903, or a .904. A fair number of customers don't want to spend a penny more than they need to just get by, and that's fine, it is what it is. Some of these cams are 1.100 or more lift with evil pressure, and fast ramps. The only tappet that we've found that will live ANY time at all under this strain (FOR THIS AMOUNT OF MONEY) is an ultra pro from crane. Comp, isky, lunati, crower, ect, ect, usually die on the dyno (AT FACTORY FORD DIA.) So what this meant to me was when a factory dia Ford tappet from Crane would live where others would not, surely their Chrysler and Chevy dia lifters would be the toughest of the bunch since they're just fatter than the Ford tappet. The larger dia Chrysler tappets from all those guys seem to work fine, I'm just convinced from what I described that if a Crane ultra pro can live in a Ford being that small, and unsupported as they are, then surely a big fat Chrysler dia one would be tough as nails.

Ted, I mainly build Superstock motors and Q-16 bracket motors..Most all are over .725 on cam lift up to over .800.. I use the same lifters in both wedge and hemi motors.. Most of the time the block is not bushed...All roller lifters need replaced at some point..The Lunati lifter have always been super reliable and a great price..With the cost of parts these days they are a real bargain...Some lifters are almost three times as much.. poppaj

It cost $185.00 to have Comp cams rebuild mine a few weeks ago. $567.00 for Jesel to rebuild the rockers but they had to replace 7 rollers.

The terms "Budget" and "roller lifters" should never enter the same conversation. This is one area you DO NOT want to skimp. As far as I am concerned Comp, Erson and most others, are just a fair quality lifter at best. For a nice piece, Crane Pro-Series, Isky Red Zones, Morrells, Jesels and a few others should be the choices. Just because one set of lifters is $200 and another set is $600, definitely does not mean that one company is just trying to gouge you. You get what you pay for here. True, not every motor needs a set of Morrell lifters, but if you have a lot of spring pressure, aggressive ramps, turn it hard or just want to put a ton of passes on them, buy the good ones. A wiped roller tears up a lot of stuff.

I don;t want to high jack this thread but im in abit of a pickle when it comes to lifters.
i want lifters that wont give me trouble but like everyone else i need to save $$$
This is what i need. .904 lifter .210 offset and i cant have a full round skirt for the link bar cause my push rods MIGHT hit. Also it needs to be for push rod oiling
Comp has a .904 with the .210 offset but has a full skirt, push rod oiling.
Crower has a .904 lifter with the Hippo oiling which i like and it has a half skirt. but it only has a .180 offset.
Im just not sure what elsei can do.
Is there any lifter that is perfect out there for me? Half skirt, .904, .210 offset????
This is for a 636ci B1-TS engine. Cam lift will be .870+
thanks
I should have mentiond i can run a .903 lifter too.. I'm have to bush the holes so i can choose the size

The best bang for the buck without breaking the bank lifters would be Herbert HERTDV lifters for $219.99
Just got a order from Herbert and they must have had a big price increase at the beginning of the new year. The lifters are $269.99 now. Everything I ordered was way higher. I don't know how big your cam is or how much spring pressure you have and that needs to be what you base your choice on. The cam and springs I am running with these lifters are very mild. I didn't mean to give any false info, but didn't know about the increase.
