I don't believe the .533 is available anymore, its really too big for a hydraulic anyway. If he wanted to stay with Purpleshafts the next step would be the .557 solid cam, which would likely run about the same. It specs bigger but once you subtract the lash you've got about the same duration, .010 more lift, and 2 degree wider LSA.
Are the heads ported? And is he running the old 108 LSA 509 or the 114 LSA 509? You're not going to get much bigger than the 509 on a hydraulic, you might get a bit more lift with a modern profile, but thats it.

Call Jim at Racer Brown and see what he has. Or Cam Motion. I like Jim at RB a lot. You can get a bit bigger on the hydro but I agree that he should be usings solids. He shopuldn't lash the valves more than once a year. And he could pay someone to do that.
FWIW...other than idle...I'm not a wide LSA guy...especially with production style heads.
Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

Hughes have some good grinds as well. A street car with 4.56 gears.

Performance wise, what would be better, 108 or 114???? It has a 727, 3800 converter and 4.56's. The motor is at the machine shop now getting buttoned up soon. The 108 would be better performance wise. More low end as a result of the intake valve shutting sooner. Further I would install the cam about 102* to 104* ICL, for even more streetable performance if he Has enough p/v clearance.

Howards make some very nice .904 based camshafts for a 440...and very nice priced from Summit racing.
