I think I know the answer but...
I removed the mechanical fuel pump pushrod when I switched to an electric fuel pump.
Does this change the oiling at all in the engine as now the rod is not there? 383 engine.
my guess is that it was splash oil on the rod. So removing the rod should not make a difference.
