Not mine but helping a guy replace his wiper blades on his `71 Charger since the big bulky plastic Rain X ones hit hood and wont let them return under hood. So I bought Anco factory fit and seem allot better but still hit hood. The hood looks to not be bent, but cars pretty roughed up and if I pull up on hood the go in but then hood is not aligned with fenders anymore.

Did these cars have some special low profile blades?

Those aren't the right ones either. You need the ones that were made for the car from back then. Look on ebay. Are the arms all of the way down on the post?

I had the same problem with the Imperial. Grab the original wiper and go play match up at the stores. In my case, the solution was some sort of RV wiper blade at Car Quest.

If you have the original wipers, ANCO brand refills are available at least in my area. AZ keeps them behind the counter. No clearance issues.

Don't feel bad - Just bought exact fit blades for a 1 yr old journey - they don't fit either

Here's the problem I have - new (to me) car came without wiper arms. Got the arms from a member here & they look perfectly straight. Got the blades from Autozone, put it all together & they barely touch the windshield but they fit under the hood just fine.

Looks like your post locks are still out…….. That won't allow the arms to pull against the windshield.

Also, it looks like the arms aren't all the way down on the post. Open the lock, and push the arm to see if it will go down anymore.

Most all generic replacement wiper blades are too high for this application. Need to find a closer match to the originals.

That's what it was - so that problem is solved.

Now that they are working correctly the blades don't clear the hood so I'll be getting a new set like other have suggested.

Our parts counter help around here is useless, anyone have a part number for those Trico classics?

I punch in the application on there website and it shows all but the classics.

`71 Charger

thank you
