Does anyone happen to have part numbers, or comparison photos, showing the difference of the LA 318 to 360 engine mount brackets?
I am trying to help someone that is planning a 318 to 360 swap, but they did not save the brackets off the 360 donor. So I was trying to explain why the 318 and 360 bracket is different and needs a spacer if the 318 bracket is used.
He has a couple other guys telling him there is no difference, and with he being a newbie to the Mopar hobby I was wanting to try and help him make a smooth swap in his truck.
The two other guys hes been talking have told him that there might be a difference in the car brackets, but the truck brackets are identical, and that the 318 and 360 are also the same block. I just want to try and save the guy a headache doing his swap.

Your friend needs to find someone else to get advise from. As mentioned 360 mounts are different, 340/360 are the same 273/318 are the same.

careful there, early 273 and later 318 mounts are NOT the same. Later 318's have a different ear setup. The 273 mounts form my 65 Cuda do not bolt up to the 87 318 I have for it. Here's a link to read, some bum info but the mods to the motor mount bracket are right. http://www.hotrod.com/cars/project-vehicles/hrdp-9810-1965-plymouth-valiant-engine-swap/

Is he talking about a Magnum motor? Those engines use different mounts than the older LA engines.

You can just use a stack of washers to fill the space on right side. I've done it twice.
Facts are stubborn things.

drivers side rear "ear" is ~5/16" further forward on the 360. What Larry said washers/spacer(s) will work fine. Mockup & get it dead on

This is on LA engines. I know they are different, and was trying to explain it to him. But the other yahoos keep telling him they are the same, bolt right in, no spacer, etc.
Body is D series truck 1985

Truck mounts are a whole nuther monster from the engine brackets typically used in cars. They're about 3" tall and in a U shape. There are 318 and 360 for these. I think the replacement motor mount is about 1" or so thick rubber with the index pin and a 7/16" stud on each side that uses a nut to bolt into the mount and then into the frame cross member. I found these images:

Those are very similar, in design, to the early pass car mounts too.
