I know the market now is flooded with phonies, but would having a close to original inspection sticker add anything to a pedigreed muscle car?

Also, speaking of original...How was it done back then(if anyone can remember).??..Im sure it varied from state to state, but when you got your new car, I am assuming that it didnt have to be inspected until the next calendar year...Was a "temp" or exempt sticker placed on the car?

Here is my 1974 sticker..(71 Challenger)

Mike,

To my knowledge, at least here in NJ, there was no temp inspection sticker like todays cars have. Going by what the cops I work with say, there were only the one year stickers for NJ back then. Like your car shows, back then the stickers used to be on the pass side and not like on the driver side like todays inspection stickers.

My 71 bee has an original Feb. 77-78 Pa sticker on it. I do not know about adding value but IMHO it does add some character and also it is some documentation of the car, particularly for mileage.
