. Then shut the car off and hook up the outboards. have somebody get in the car and floor it. Make sure all 3 are wide open.

I've never seen any vacume actuated six pak open when in nuetral at WOT, with the motor running or not OP, sixpaks will barely start to open the outboards when hitting the throttle to wide open, by the time the motor builds up enough manifold CFM flow to actuate the vacume secondary pods the motor will be revved way higher than you want to hear

What I think he means is to verify that the outboards have the capability to open fully with the engine off...I do this as well, although, unless you have a mech setup, you would have to pull the linkage open manually to do this..

-70 is too much jet on the center....
-Make sure float level is set...
-Must trim the idle circuit on the outboards...Biggest mistake people make on these when they cant get them to idle properly..
-use the outboard jet plates-no one is that lucky drilling out the stockers..
-NO WAY are the yellow springs going to work...Prob fall flat on its face and then struggle to regain..Go brown or purple...Ive even modified them for further stiffness..
-As delivered accel pump usually fine on a stroker..Never saw any benefit to the bigger pump...usually worse..
-Play with different pump cams to dial in the fuel delivery progression to the outboards..
-Even though its mostly for the resto guys, Use an idle solenoid to prevent dieseling, especially when running pump gas..

These setups work great on strokers..Bear this in mind folks...The carbs on the FAST 6 pack A12 cars I built(the red stick car and the black auto) are all just jetted, outboard springs and pump cams from being right out of the box..We had one of the brightest carb guys in the country make a set of really tricked out 2300''s...No matter what we did, they werent better than the ones that were on them...Dont over think this...

"i also hear people talk about pro max but one gentelman I know had problems with the floats hitting their plates?"

Maybe on a plastic float the parting line "Flash" can be sanded down?

Thanks for the info im going to play with alot of things ... going to use jet plates I think it will be easier to dial in than drilling

I use a razor blade...Takes less than a minute...Just take down the parting line of the mold...

Nick, what do your spark plugs look like after trying to get it to run? Were you able to get a timing light on it yet?

Ok guys the carbs are brand new from summit on sale around christmas not sur of the numbers or application . i did buy a spring kit and am in the prossess of using the yellow springs .because they are the lightest and i have low vaccume . I leaning to buyimg the quick fuel plates and block so no drilling just jets . also I m having a hard time doing anything because i cant keep it running long enough to check timing , floats ect...

If you have an electric fuel pump, set the floats with the pump running, but not the engine. This will get you close enough for starting.

I did just about what you are doing ! Mine is a 505 stroker and i ended up whit 70 jets in center carb and 82-84 jets on outer carbs. There is a realy good articel from a car Magazine that Jerry Binder wrote regarding how the carbs work and how to tune that i saved on my lap top that i can send you if you like !?

I've ran a bunch of different sixpaks on a lot of different motors, on your deal I would check the vacume idling with the motor warmed up in gear and then use a power valve one to two inches lower than that. The reason I'm suggesting that is I had a sixpak on my 518 C.i. low deck pump gas stroker motor with a big solid roller cam in it that I had a 2.5 power valve in the center carb., I swapped the motor out(reuse the same carbs on both motors) to a smaller 464 C.I. RB motor with a smaller hydraulic cam and found out that the 2.5 power valve would start to close and reopen in high gear in the 1/4 mile, NOT GOOD! I put either a 4.5 or a 5.5 ,(CRS)power valve in it and that cured the problem in high gear. IHTHs

Hi guys all im saying is I threw som stuff at it and it works , not saying its perfect but close . I still need to drive it , check timing and vac .
Right now i have a good problem.... It runs and stays running, now the fine tune.. PS and if any one has any info be it personal six pack stuff or a story from a magazine whatever post it !!!! No two engines are the same so what works for one six pack stroker may not work for the other.
Thanks again guys!!!

My experience is that the stock center carbs is kind of a restriktion on a large engine like a 500 cube lung ! I ended up whit a set of BG that flow equal on al 3 carbs and that work´t better for me aand one realy nice benefit is that the outer carbs have acc pumps and they are side hung float carbs whit lose jets on al carbs same as the old back in the days Direct Connetion sold 82&83 carbs that also outpreform the stock carbs if they are tuned corekt.
