I'm detailing my 71 Challenger 340 during the cold weather and have a question of some hoses. I'll post pics of the hoses I have questions about. The first hose goes from the shaker baseplate to the breather on the valve cover and is 5/8" diameter nipple size. It has numbers on it that read as follows. The first few numbers are illegible but the rest read 904 90142A 2660 as seen in the picture. The second picture shows the hose has ribs on it. Anyone know what the entire should read? The hose isn't cracked but is original and doesn't show well. Any really accurate repros out there? Thanks.
Terry

Here's the second pic of the same hose showing the ribs that run the length of the hose.

Here's the hose that runs from the valve cover breather to the carb. It has KV stamped on it. I remember there was a post awhile back on these hoses were being stamped with KV by a company. I'll do a search for it but wanted to share the pic.

The ribbed drain hoses are the exact same hoses used for the heater hoses. the number stampings are the vendor code, part#, and date code. I have yet to see a reproduction that looks close enough to call it "Really close", the rubber surface appearance and the ink stampings being quite different are the major short comings.

Scott, as soon as I saw your reply, I went out and looked at the repro heater hose I have and I see what you mean. My original hoses definitely have a different look where the weave appears to show through ( as seen in the pics), only 2 raised ribs, and a different stamping (style). I've installed the new heater hoses so the breather hoses now look very different. I though maybe the weave look was due to age. So, now I need to decide whether to leave the original hoses on, or take them off, save them and use repro hose.

By the way, I reviewed the KV hose discussion from a couple of months ago and realize the repros aren't exact but have to do for now.
