MY son put together a turbo on his 02 Mustang for under $5000. But there were some aftermarket parts (piping, intercooler etc) for that application. You could probably use methanal (washer fluid) to cool the intake charge and save the cost and complexity of an intercooler. Another option is a bolt on Paxton supercharger. http://www.paxtonauto.com/product.php?id=127Personally I do not like them, the one on the Mustang was awfully loud (not is a good way to my 50 year old ears) but it was faster than hell. Tuning is a big concern, even with EFI it will be tough to dial in. Good luck Scott

The belt driven supercharger was loud. The Paxton and Vortech are essentially a turbo being driven off of a belt from the crankshaft instead of exhaust gasses. It whined at idle but HOWLED at high RPM great on the top end but impossible to sneak home at night. Scott

I had a Paxton on a 440, no louder than a bad power steering pump. At WOT you couldn't even hear it. Turbo cars are typically quiet until you get why up in the rpms and they start to whine.

parts to account for Turbo wastgate blow off valve carb or fuel injection fuel pump fuel pressure regulator intercooler? or meth? or e85? piping headers or use flip exhaust manifolds
my turbo was $900, custom borg warner vs racing blow off (100) and wastgate (150) (ebay grade) still good stuff carb: stock holley with hanger18 mod's used aeromotive fuel pressure reg with fittings (150) fuel pump(s) walbro gsl392's 115 a piece vs racing 4inch core intercooler (150) misc pipe and flanges (300) pacesetter shorty headers (150)...manifolds are free
you dont need a pipe bending just buy a pipe with combo bends if you can weld your own stuff
hop on turbomustangs.com.....tons to look at on there

You can't flip the exhaust manifolds on LA, B or RB engines.
On the LA the two center exhaust ports are funky shaped. They won't seal when inverted.
B and RB manifolds will block the spark plug holes when inverted. You can't get the spark plugs in. There is one manifold that will work but I think it came off a van.
I thought Dizuster flipped his manifolds? He has a SB w/ logs facing forward. I'd think shorty headers would work on a SB as well.
