Hey --

I need to replace the cowl seal.

Who sells a correct one with the upper part of the seal opened and in the correct direction? towards the engine compartment.

I currently have a reproduction and the opening is on the windshield side and not the engine side.

Thanks in advance.

Bill

Jim Filmore. Detroit Muscle Technology sells the correct cowl seal.

Frank Badalson sells the square sealer that covers the two holes under the cowl seal.

Turn the seal around, it sounds like it is installed backwards?

more than likely so

but its been on the car so long I fear it has taken shape the wrong way.
Plus - the material and feel of it is wrong... just seems really cheesy

I took a look at one of the seals from Detroit Muscle and it looks 1000% better.
for $40 its worth changing it..

Thanks for the suggestion..

I remember the replacement seal I got was wrong and seemed smaller than original? Mostly I noticed it didn't have the metal attaching clips molded into it.

So I cleaned up my original and re installed it and tossed the replacement.

Good to know Jim Filmore is making a better part.
