is there anything different about this pickup, length and such? have one that isn't in the best of shape, would need to be taken apart and given a little loving care. if it is easy to get a replacement, that would be better.

Those rascals be air sucking engine killers Your a lot better off buying a fix street hemi pickup and shortening it to make it fit properly You need the proper M.W. oil pan to go along with those picksups also, not a stock 361/413 oil pan either

Agree that they can suck air.
Atttached is the pan with central sump that has baffle plates front and rear to keep oil from sliding out of the sump during accel/deaccel/turning.
The motor was set on the pan and the middle is a little pushed up.

i've never seen a pickup like this. the pickup we have looks like a regular 1/2" pickup.

we do have an original 63 pan, hard to tell exactly, but it does look like the one in the pictures on this thread.

cab, as mentioned, we have the correct pan, (i know, i was there when he paid an ungodly amount of money for it!). so a regular 1/2" pickup will work, just shortened to the correct length?

Many would suggest deepen the pan instead. Oil starvation is a potential problem.

it's a stock 63 pan, modifying that would be a no-no. and he is going to use it. this will be a street car and will not see much high rpm usage, so that pan will work for what he is after.

On the last MW I built with the correct pan I used a shortened Hemi rigid pickup as Cab suggested.

I should have clarified.
Didn't mean to deepen the original pan, get a pan with central sump and deepen that.

When I was racing my 1963 M.W. car in NHRA stock I ended up using a 1966 to 1969 426 Street Hemi oil pan and pickup to help that motor live while drag racing it, it fits and works nicely

The swinging pickup shown on the link appears different than the one I posted.

I'm working on a 64 MW and the original swinging pick-up looks like the one in the link not the one you've posted...Was there an change/upgrade after a certain timeframe ???{Other than the size increase}

Interesting.
The one I posted was from a 413 mw w/ notched deck and cast date of 3-16-62
I wonder if it was an early design changed because of leakage?
