Not sure what the brand was but I am in the process of doing one in a 67 GTX right now. I mounted the pump but due to it sticking up I am using a foam bumper on top of the tank for clearance, I'm using the 1/2 inch foam matt for Tractor Supply and will probably double it. Using Summit screw type fittings. I swapped the regualtor toa return style and still have to finish the plumbing at the carbs and run the return line. I think all the final fittings came in Friday so I should be able to finish it Monday. http://havanahotrods.com/htm/67gtx.htm

I will try to get a picture Monday how I ran the lines and wires out but essentially I brought them out the center right above the original sending unit. The tank will be about an inch lower but it should not be noticeable at all from behind.

That's from Tanks Inc. I bought that as well as their recess so the tank would sit flush against the trunk floor. I just saw they are going to be releasing tanks with recesses and baffles built in for A/E-bodies.

I've done it with the tanks inc style, basically came down to cost... you can use a walbro style pump with them which are easy to get and not too expensive. I didn't use the recess piece they sell, I modify the tank myself. The hole in the floor above the pump would be the way to go... didn't do it on the one I did because I didn't want to cut a nice original wagon floor.

I think that recess from Tanks is the ticket to solving the clearance issue. Tanks also sell a good selection of pumps - reasonably priced.
The recess was definetely the way to go for me. I looked at the Aeromotive setup, but because 66-7 B-bodies have such limited space to mount things, it was cut open the trunk floor or run a recess. Since I don't have the tools to make a recess for the Aeromotive setup, modifying the pre-made one was next best option. And since it came with the same fuel pump that FAST includes with their setup, it was a no brainer for me.

The Tank Inc. pump shown is the one I used and I too used the factory sending unit for the gauge and just capped the factory fuel line. I believe spacing it down is gonna do the trick for me since I don't wish to damage a nice factory trunk floor either. I will try to remember to get some pictures of the tank installed tomorrow and pictures form the rear to show the road view.

I'm going to go with the Aeromotive phantom setup (already have it) - and either space down the tank slightly or make the access hole in the trunk.
It's nice that someone like Tanks, Inc is coming out with something, but I don't get why you'd want one of those fuel cell style senders (has anyone ever had one read accurately??) and if their basket baffle really works during any sustained g-loading. It looks somewhat inadequate for that. The Aeromotive one is such that the foam and rubber cupped bucket is pretty tight around the pickup strainer - once the gas is in there it won't just slosh out.

I just started my install tonight. 68 Charger, stock tank, I had planned to weld in a drop area for the pump hat, as it's obvious it's going to hit the floor... But before I did that, I got out the hammer and beat down a corner into a flat area! This gave me about 1.5 inches of room to work with. I am going to try it this way, if it doesn't work well, I will cut it out and weld in a nice pan for the pump hat. Here is a picture with the large hole template setting in my ghetto pan.

That does look good. What is the total measured height now that you lowered it?
