Does anyone sell the hard plastic grommet that goes around the park brake release handle on E Bodies? I saw a guy selling them a while back on eBay but don't see them now.I think '70 was a clear/white grommet and '71 was black or at least that what he was pitching. The one in my '70 handle assy is clear/white and broken. Thanks for any help

Not sure if they are being reproduced. The one on my 70 was black. I've read (from Alan Gallant?) and tried cutting off the end of a plastic insulation pad nail. Works great!

edit: spelling

Not that I am aware of.

Atha auto fasteners has one but it's C body only (I have them here somewhere)

It seems a piece like that could be turned down on a lathe using a piece of Delrin. Do you know anyone with a machine shop?

I also wish someone was reproducing the bumper. It is similar to the one for the clutch pedal but the pad is thicker.

I put a regular rubber grommet in the bracket hole along with a flat washer between it and the spring.

I just checked it and it is good after 3 years now.

OK found the pic, thought I tossed it for a minute. Basically I went to the local Ace Hardware and bought a nylon bolt large enough to cut the bushing out of it. Dial calipers and a table top lathe were my friends that allowed me to make the bushing. Turned out great, look and fit.

Upper Left - Start Bolt (I bought an extra in case I screwed up the first one)
Bottom Left - Original part
Upper Right - Shank of bolt that was clamped into the lathe, the drop left over
Bottom Right - Fabricated bushing cut from the head of the bolt and a portion of the shank

Making them from nylon bolts would be expensive (Relatively speaking). Call up a plastics supplier and buy a foot of nylon rod.
