Any idea when the .509 cam changed to the new specs?
Its been quite a few years back that the New LSSA was offered. The Old profile is still available, the New profile is just another option.

I've run both in several 440 cars- The 528 is a better cam and a little more street friendly. Run with everything from 2.76 to 4.56 gears. The 509 always needed a loose converter and gear to run well and sooner or later would spear a factory stamped rocker from the required spring pressure.
No opinion on the "new" 509 as I have not run one of those.
