Has anyone used the Proform Distributor kit on a 383 400 mopar? How are they?

They can't even spell, so I'd wouldn't trust it.

I would not buy it, they make cheap knock off stuff.

I would shy away from the 'no-name' and look into this

I bought one of there set ups one time from summit or jegs one, just to see if it would work.
Needless to say it did not even start. I pulled it out returned it and went with the MP kit and it fired right up.
I would not waste my time or money with them again, spend a little more and get a good one.
Matt

Mine has been in for over 5 years and 10K+ miles. I didn't use the orange box that came in the kit and used an older factory one that I had. If I pull it out I doubt any of you can tell its not a factory part. It was identical to a 400 distributor I had planned on using. I got mine from Summit...

their GM versions are OK as long as one replaces the Modules which fail regularly. Ask me as a shop owner how I know, LOL. When we see a proform HEI distributor with it's "original RED module" in it, We change it out to prevent "PROBLEMS". The rest of the unit seems Ok the electrical portion uhh ??????

Can't comment on the box or wiring as I didn't use those parts but the distributor itself is fine. This kit dropped to $110 a few months back on Amazon so I bought it for the distributor since the kit price was less than I was going to pay for a new distributor. I had the distributor completely apart to weld up the advance slots and I would place the fit and finish on par with the old MP distributors. The pickup wires are a little cheesy with a glob of silicone for strain relief. I will probably eventually replace the pickup with a BWD or Standard unit.

That's excellent. Thank you. Jegs can usually ship a lot cheaper to Europe than us.

I ran the hei style stand a lone in my 413 last year. Hit the key, it fired right up every time... then less wires and such in the engine bay. I'll be using one on my 383 this year
