Hey guys I have a dash for my 71 charger rt I bought from a vender here on moparts who I will not name to throw under the bus but I wanted your opinion on this dash. Am I too picky are all recored dashes going to be this quality or was it a bad one?

1. First the corner seems to have a couple flat deformed spots on the edge.

2. Look how bent it is on the spot over the gauge cluster. Will this pull straight when mounted on the dash or was it damaged before I got it and won't pull down right?

Like I said just looking for your opionions on this as I am kind of in a rock and a hard spot now as I have a show in a week and a half I CAN NOT miss with the car and now we have the dash out and this pad looked like this once we got it out of the box. So I am going to have to mount it for now but am I out of line on asking for a replacement pad? Thanks

Looks like steamin Dog Doo Doo, would be nice to know the mfg or vendor, regardless of their "rep", just so others can avoid the same issue...if you can't be bothered, or are afraid to list the vendor, why come on here and rant, rather than call the vendor in question? it just more

I would assume the member who sold it here was just a middleman.
It would be good to know who the manufacturer of the product is.
I would have first contacted who you bought it from and shown him the pictures.
If he is a decent vendor he would go to bat for you so you can get satisfaction from the manufacturer, or at least he could exchange it for you.

I guess that is the type that doesn't use a steel inner frame??
I bought a mint Tan original from Tony and dyed it Black for my car to avoid this.

I assume the bend is easy to fix as it's probably just the steel frame damaged in shipping and should be easy to bend back straight, can't comment on the other stuff.

Does the replacement dash pad have a steel core or an ABS plastic one?
For the cost of the dash pads I would want a pad that wasn't bent/warped or any other issues.
I think it would be a good idea to tell who made the dash pad so other fellow members don't buy one that is in the same condition.

Obviously you are not happy with the dash, so my question is have you attempted to get this remedied before going public. I for one, if that was mine I would have been in contact with the person who sent it and then taken steps from there.
