Hello!

Having a problem with installing my Charger rear window regulators. Its factory electric windows and I mixed up the regulator springs front and rear. Do the larger coil springs go on the front windows and the smaller ones on the rears?

Also, I do remember that there was tension on the front regulators with the electric window motor installed, not sure by how much. Is there suppose to be tension on the rears too with the electric motors installed and how do i do it.

I've gone thru the service manual and looked quite a bit online for answers with out luck.

Thanks,
CAC

Larger springs for the front, small springs on the rear. Clamp the regulator body in a vice, install the spring and rotate it about a 1/4 turn, should be tension on the arm. Install the motor. If it's installed correctly, the arm will be at one end of the stroke cycle. I believe this would be the up position once installed in the door. Actually, it will be higher then the top of the door. So, activate the motor after it's installed, be careful, make sure the roller on the end doesn't scratch the paint as it goes down in between the channel. You want the most tension on the spring when it's in the down position.

Thanks for clarifying the bigger spring up front. Do I also have to put tension on the rear springs? I dont know if I can install both the rear regulators and mo.tors at the same time
