Hey Guys, What is the weirdest Fender Tag you have seen coded for Colour and interior combo. This one is a new listing on e-bay an bedazzled me when i started reading the codes.  Can you picture a Jamaica Dark Blue Metallic with a bright Red Premium interior and White roof  Holy smackers

Being an A-Body guy I have seen these: 67 Barracuda Formula S 383 4-speed fastback Root Beer brown with gold interior.  69 Dart Swinger Q5 Turquoise with B5 interior.

Can some one enlighten me on 1970 E Body information off the Data Tag. V08 does it mean anything more than Delete Vinyl Roof. The tag on this post shows V08 on the tag, is this a miss stamp. I have only come across this V08 on one other tag. This Car is it not a 27 Body Style on this post.

V08 = trim/paint/vinyl waiver Chrysler had customers sign a waiver (agreeing to take the car after seeing it in person) on non-recommended paint/trim combinations Where did you get "vinyl top DELETE" from? I do know there is a Superbird out there that claims his fake fender tag with "V08" instead of "V19" translates to "vinyl top DELETE". BS

It comes from the Decoder off one of those Mopar decoder sites. This is why I asked the question on the post above. Also on another decoder site it states what you have stated Dan. On CC.com there is a post about V08 on a 1970 Barracuda or Cuda hardtop that is on that tag.
Now also on 1970 E Body Tags was B51 put on from the beginning of the 1970 Model year or not at all. I just wonder why someone would order a car with P31 and P37 and not add Power Brakes in some form or another.

power brakes coded all year, I believe U.S. spec. 1970 'Cuda (BS27) 'verts GG's numbers (548 built): 56 power windows ~$105 60 power drum brakes ~$43 177 power disc brakes ~$71 317 power top ~$53 402 power steering ~$90 maybe after spending $200 on the 4-speed & $200 on the AM/FM stereo there was only so much left to spend & with power top & windows - one doesn't have to leave the driver's seat to look COOL!!

Why must the tag have V08. Was this to tell who ever in the plant that this is an odd ball build. Why would they put it on the tag so it would also generate something on the Dealership sticker to remind the saleman to make sure you did not screw up and the person that put in the order has to take the car. So this is a Convertible. How many different colored tops did Chrysler offer and put on an E Body in 1970 with a convertible.

Dan, seats are original to the car, black bolsters, red inserts all vinyl, door panels/headliner/carpet/console/dash/etc are black, seats are 73-4 soft back E body style....the original owner just tracked me down last year, showing up at my door, wanting to buy the car back...I questioned her on the odd color combo, she said it was a HS Graduation present that her Parents took her to the dealer to order, she said in the excitement of the day, she had forgotten what was checked off on the order form....until the car arrived...within a year of ownership she had it painted Panther Pink, then had a shop do custom air brushed murals/etc of pink panther cartoon fiqures along with custom painted panels on the car, when I got the car, the red inserts had faded to a light pink over the decades, I repainted the car in Panther Pink, with a factory 73 side stripe, rubber color keyed bumpers, gull wing, and blacked the hood out in V21 fashion for sport hood equipped Cuda's, the car was for my wife
....I recently pulled the back seat to reupholster the interior in all black seat covers, not that I cared at the moment, nor still don't, but the covers were indeed OEM, not custom, I still have the front seats to pull after the winter

The number on a broadcast sheets are for picking parts. The Cushion line or seat line would build what ever the next broad cast sheet said to, the line worker does not care what is next it is just the next job to build and if it was purple interior the worker would not care. Been there done it. In a lot of automotive plants the sub assembly lines are not near the main line and a drag chain or a conveyor would take the parts to the main line from the subassembly line and an operator would transfer then to the vehicle. The worker that loads the interior into the vehicle would just look to see if the Numbers matched between the parts and the Vehicle. The way personal changed in the plants in 1970 and how rare a V08 is on any built no one would know or care what V08 on the line is.
The thing someone might do is circle the V08 but I bet the line worker would just look at the interior color code and built the seats.
