I converted a 70 Charger from a power brake/automatic console to a power brake 4 speed and my clutch pedal is about 2 1/2 inches higher then my brake. I used the original booster & m/c (rebiult) & a set of 70 pedals. Is this normal or have i done something wrong??? Any Help would be great.

Mine does too. Although a friend's challenger does not-- PB/4speed car. Don't know why though.

Is there a different brake pedal linkage for a 70 or maybe a different bracket of sorts? Anyone have a 68 or 69 B Body that knows or maybe a 71? Thanks Again Moparts

My 68 RR 4-speed, power disc brake car, brake pedal sits much lower than the clutch pedal, comes in very handy when on a steep hill for holding brake and also giving a bit of throttle as i let of the clutch

I believe the lower brake pedal came with the advent of disc brakes.. I remember first seeing them when these cars were new and discs became more of a standard than an option, and thinking something was wrong also.... Just my 2 cents..

ALL 2 cents are GREATLY appreciated & worth every bit ,as i`m about to put the column in place and every part has been meticulously restored to original condition or very close and it makes getting at some other parts very difficult. Thanks Again

Thank God it's not just my car. I thought something was goofy about the pedals.
I'm going to have to fix it though. Can't stand it.

My 68 gtx is a factory 4spd with power disc brake option and the pedals sit perfectly level to each other. I have since converted it to manual brakes and the pedals are still nice, straight and level. Sounds like some of you guys have some issues.

I cant imagine my brake pedal as high as my clutch pedal! I can't remember a car or truck including large trucks that i have driven where the brake pedal wasn't lower than the clutch, sometimes just a little bit but in those cases the clutch pedal was almost even with the throttle pedal, in other cases like my 68 RR with power front disc the clutch pedal is much higher than the gas pedal and having the brake pedal just a bit higher than the gas pedal makes it much smoother to drive, like taking off on a hill, i just have to move my foot from side to side, not lift my whole leg. Besides the clutch pedal rests at the rubber bumper on its stop, and the brake rests on its stop which includes the brake switch so i dont think their much adjustment

Power brake pedal (with correct pivot linkage) will sit lower than the clutch. Manual brakes use a straight push rod and will be closer to even with the clutch pedal.

I've had a '68 Charger, and two '69 road runners, all manual drums. all the brake pedals sat lower than the clutch, and so does my '85 D100 w/ power disc.

mine is a conversion, so it is hard to use it as an example. but i assume the pedal assembly is stock? i don't know if there is anyone reproducing those.

mine is manual drum, and the pedals sit almost dead even, exactly the way i like it

Pedal assembly (for a 70 B Body, but will fit 68&69 also),linkage (was in the car),power brake booster and m/c are all original, just restored, even down to the right clutch pedal with the hole (only found on the 70 pedal) for the neutral safety switch.

Also restored a 69.5 bird with 4spd a few years back with manual drum brakes and the pedals were level with eachother on that car as well.
