Hello, I have an early 80's Dodge truck and I am doing some repair work to my shop truck and wanted to know if anyone has taken off the roof drip rail mouldings with out damaging them? The one I have is PERFECT and I don't want to damage it.
Thanks

Can you attach a picture of your "Old Scvhool" opener and are you using it on the bottom or the top?

Thank you.. I don't have any opers that look like that. I will see what I can find.. do you try to remove the molding from the top edge or the bottom edge?

The little tongue that catches the lip of the cap catches the lower edge
do this very progressively as you will warp them & they may not want to stay on when put back
The tongue will leave a small indentation sometimes but only on vinyl top cars & when trying to get too much at one time
always at least the beginning two starts get a little pulled spot
If it bothers you when put it back a rag & a body hammer will fix it
most of the time you won't notice it

I use a paint stick, longways, then tap with a hammer... start at one end and work your way slowly to the other. You'll break the paint stick before you damage the trim.
