The museum at his place in Florida is a MUST SEE for any race fan--I mean Bucket List worth leaving work today and being there in the morning must see!! I left there , came home, and BUILT a front engine dragster--No kidding! They don't make men like that anymore--we all should take a lesson. I think the reason he has been able to make that collection what it has become is all the close personal releationships with the widows, families, ex racers, etc. That proves something about the man. He is a lot like my Dad--Kind of made his mind up about everything long ago, and has stuck to his guns throughout the years--It makes them a little unbending at times--and unable to convince them of more modern ideas about things but....you just have to admire their tenacity.

I agree, for any automotive fan, you have to see the museum. There is so much to look at between the 3 different buildings.

Easily one of the coolest things in my life was when Big Daddy did a little TV interview with me about my Duster. Mother's Car Show TV Spot

I was with Big Daddy when he did a similer interview with a buddies old restored "Koffels Flinstone Flyer" at Summit in Akron, Ohio several years back. He is the man he says he is. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif) Don't have any vids though, but Im sure someone does, as there were Vids recording. He also, even Signed the dash of the car. DusterDave, ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bow.gif) , to your Build, said it before, will say it again. That Duster build of yours is a Master piece. Also remember some vids of yours, with Dan Costello helping with the engine.

Back in 72 the wife, son and I were at 131 drag way . [ Martin michigan ] We were setting at the top end of the stands watching qualifying . Don came up into the stands and sat down next to us . He even offered to hold our son for awhile. The wife took a picture of coarse. 40 years later while going through some old photos we came across that photo. Just so happens we were taking a trip to Florida , The wife had the picture blown up in size , we stopped in at the museum and Don signed it to my son. What a guy. We talked about racing at Martin for awhile .He didn't remember the picture being taken, but pictures don't lie. We gave the picture to our son on for a birthday present.
it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead
