This is my first roller motor and thought people with first hand experience might chime in.

I'm sure I can tame the car down a bit, we had it set up to try to get some bite on a slippery track and then went to a good track and it really hooked.

work on the chassis first, there are many ways to reduce power with out changing the cam and internal parts. and a lot cheaper. get an ET Jenie, you can dial in what ever ET or power level you want.

I am ordering a BPE crank and some scat H beams. thanks for the help. I am asking about the cam now. As I said I`m looking for 585 HP. I have the top end off of IMM machine`s 621HP motor that was in Hot Rod. The cam, valve train, heads and intake. I have a 950 holley carb and 1 7\8 hedman hedders. I am not looking for all out power. The cam is 260\266 at .050 with .683/.653 lift and 112 centerline. The other cam I`m looking at is 248\252 and with the 1.65 ratio rocker arms it turns out to .630 lift with a 110 centerline. I don`t know alot about cams but think it would be a better cam for me. What do you guys thnk. Thanks again. Craig

As said, build for max power with the parts you got. Then detune accordingly. Of the 2 cams listed, I would go with window #2.

Really happy with this Bullet I just put in the 440" small block. It's 251/259@.050 .605 lift and 109 centers in at 104.8, of course I've got some pretty decent W2's on it to carry some rpm HP above the torque peak.

I worked pretty closely with Tim Goolsby at Bullet on it, if you have good heads you can bring the torque peak in early and still have great power up top even with a cam that looks small-ish 'on paper'

Something I would recommend with a roller on the street is to groove the 2 and 4 cam journals to give you true 360 degree oiling to help cool the springs on the street. Unless you're already running grooved cam bearings instead (accomplishes the same thing)

Crizila so your talking about the .630 cam?

WIZE, I haven't done the short block yet just trying to figure out parts. It probably won't be a street motor but are these cam bearings off the shelf and would they be better anyways?

Yes on the .630 lift cam.
